Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond

Welcome to River Valley Birth Co's educational content page. Here you can learn about different areas of focus such a your menstrual cycle phases, types of births, normal versus abnormal phases of the postpartum period and how a doula can help you through each of these.

What Is Natural Birth?

I personally love natural birth. I’ve had a cesarean, a medicated hospital birth, and a natural home birth. I’ve experienced medical intervention and hands-off support. What I’ve learned is that natural birth isn’t about avoiding tools—it’s about not being forced into them. It’s about listening to your body, your instincts, and your needs.

As your doula, my job isn’t to steer you in a certain direction. It’s to walk with you as you decide what feels best in your body, your birth, your family.

Whether that’s a candlelit home birth or a carefully planned induction in a hospital—I’ve got your back.

You were born to do
this your way

There’s power in making informed, grounded choices. There’s beauty in listening to your body. There’s strength in asking for help.

Natural birth isn’t a finish line to cross. It’s a mindset: one that honors the wisdom you already carry.

If you're curious about how I support birthing people through natural and medicated births alike, let’s chat. I'd love to meet you where you are.

Doula Do, Doula Don't

Doula Support, Your Way

A doula isn’t here to take over, judge your choices, or push an agenda—we’re here to walk alongside you. Whether your birth is quiet and candlelit or fast and full of decisions, you deserve someone who’s holding space for you. Support isn’t about doing things a certain way—it’s about helping you feel seen, heard, and held. However you birth, you don’t have to do it alone.

Your Menstrual Cycle

Your menstrual cycle isn’t just about a few days each month—it’s a full-body rhythm! Understanding your cycle can help you move through life with more awareness, self-compassion, and confidence. Whether you’re tracking for health, planning for pregnancy, or just learning more about yourself, honoring your cycle is a powerful way to reconnect with your body. You’re not meant to feel out of sync—you were made to flow.
